The Marie Stopes Blue Door Fund

We help girls and women

The Marie Stopes Blue Door was first opened to women in 1921 by family planning pioneer Marie Stopes at London's first family planning clinic, which offered free services to married women.

The opening of the clinic had a huge impact on the 20th century and marked the start of a new era in which couples, for the first time, could reliably take control over their fertility.

For almost 100 years, the Blue Door has been a trusted and unwavering sign of quality care to millions of women and girls seeking contraception and safe abortion services in 37 countries worldwide.

Through your contribution to our Blue Door Fund, you make it possible for the women and girls who need us most to access family planning counselling, contraception and safe abortion services. This fund allows MSI to strategically expand our programs for even greater impact and ensure support, when needed, to continue services for our clients.

In 2018, our Blue Door community helped prevent
unsafe abortions worldwide

Worldwide, 214 million women want modern contraception and can’t access it.

97% of unsafe abortions occur in developing regions, where laws are most restrictive.

Complications from pregnancy and childbirth are the #1 cause of death for girls aged 15–19 worldwide.

Giving $50 can contribute to a woman or girl completing her education, pursuing a career, running her own business or spending time with her family.

Donations over $2 are tax-deductible within Australia. Donations are in Australian dollars.
